The situation on the labor markets for dentists in Spain, Portugal and some other EU countries is not good, and unfortunately it looks like this situation will not change in the coming years.

When you are recently graduated or have some years of experience, working in the Netherlands is a great opportunity!

1. Salary
Average net monthly salary per years of experience:

• Year 1: € 3.200
• Year 2: € 4.000
• Year 3: € 4.500-€ 5.000
• Year 4 -6: € 5.500 – € 7.000
• Year 7: € 8.000

* your salary varies with experience, quality, skills.

2. The Dutch language course

You are required to learn the Dutch language to a B2+ level. This will take you between 5 and 8 months depending on your own ability and availability for daily classes and homework. You will take lessons in your own city in very small groups of maximum 2-4 candidates. We start new training groups every 2-3 months.

3. Dutch language exam

Since 2017, before you will start working there is an exam taken by the government, before you can register as a dentist to work in Holland. Initially it seemed difficult to pass the exam, but nowadays our candidates usually need 1 maximum 2 tries before they pass, so everybody passes!

4. Costs

Our clients pay the cost of your preparation as well as our efforts. We will ask you (twice) a commitment fee, which will be fully returned when you pass the exam and start working. So in the end the language course is for free for our candidates! We will help you with everything, from obtaining European subsidies, to your Dutch bank account, fiscal number, housing, registration in the BIG-register for dentists, etc.

5. Working hours in The Netherlands

Usually from 08:00-17:00, between 36-40 hours per week. In principle there will be no overtime and only if it is your turn to cover emergencies you will work evenings/weekends.
